Airgun Universe Scope Rail for Barra Cowboy Series 1866 <p>Love your Barra 1866, but want to add a scope or red dot sight? This is a DIY kit that will enable you to scope your air rifle. Please note that this kit requires you to locate, drill, and tap 6 screw holes in the top of your receiver. You will need a drill, 1/8\" drill bit, M4-0.7 tap and wrench, 2mm hex key, and superglue to install.</p><p>To get the most out of your scope rail, you\'ll want to choose one of the barrel stabilizer options. These are bundled with the rail at a discount. They replace your stock barrel assembly plug and fit with much tighter tolerances than the stock piece. You can also add an o-ring kit at a discount to keep your rifle shooting strong.</p><p><strong>Installation</strong></p><p>Remove the receiver halves from your 1866. Use 2 small drops of superglue to hold the scope rail to the left hand receiver half. Once the glue is holding, use the scope rail as a drill guide to start the holes in both receiver halves. Once you\'ve marked where the holes need to go, pop the rail off the receiver. Drill your holes, taking care not to go deeper than necessary. Clean up the holes and lightly sand off the gold finish under where the scope rail will be. Tap the holes in the rail, then tap the receiver. Apply a thin line of superglue on the left hand receiver and place the scope rail. Apply a tiny dab of superglue to the threads of the set screws and screw them in until you can see them flush with the holes inside the receiver.</p><p>At this point, reassemble your rifle. Apply a tiny dab to the remaining three set screws and screw them to the same depth in the right hand receiver, using your hex key as a depth guide. Your 1866 is now ready for mounting a lightweight scope or red dot. I suggest a 3-9x32 or smaller scope.</p><p><strong>Important</strong></p><p>Installing this rail will void your warranty.
