I've got a 60 lb Jennings compound bow that I bought when I was in high school. I shot the mess out of it back in the day, but havent used it for years. On my list of things I'd like to do is to cut some osage orange or hickory and make a self bow from it. We have a pretty long archery season here in MO, so a homemade bow would be a cool way to harvest some venison. I might even try making a few arrows for kicks.

Thanks, my library will be getting three new additions.  Grin I find traditional archery fascinating, much more so than the bows with training wheels (I have one of those  Embarrassed ) and all the other stuff that goes along with modern hunting.

like all my other projectile weapons iv'e made my bows, and the arrows to. my best shot is 79 yards, which aint that great, but for a 30 pound bow thats not awful, and you thats all one really needs.
