I've made a penumatic snow launcher that looks like a spudgun (and a bazooka) but doesnt run on explosive gas so... not rly

I've played around with spray and pray ones. I built a sprinkler valve airgun that had a big tank on it that was capable of launching bigger projectiles, but I never shot spuds. I did shoot empty CO2 cylinders wrapped in duct tape with good success.  Grin

My friend has a garden and some burglars often visit there to harvest (?) the fruit. He want to make a spud gun as a spring gun but he doesn't know how to set up that. He also knows that a pneumatic spud gun can kill or maim people so he only want to make a gun that has such a loud sound as possible (as a land mind?) at a given pressure to scare the hell out of the burglar and quickly deliver a large cloud ball of fine pepper powder. Should the gun has a big and short barrel? Can some music instrument knowledge (to louden the music) help? Please help!!!

I've never done such a thing myself or heard of one, you'd definitely want to check into the legality of such a device before building one. You could use a simple sprinkler valve with a short chamber and short fat barrel. A motion detector, trip switch, etc can power the solenoid to cause the gun to fire. A paper towel would make a good wad, drive it down the barrel, dump in some pepper, and drive another paper towel down on top of it. When a spinkler valve is triggered by the solenoid, it is inefficient which makes a loud honking sound, further increasing the scare factor. It will still be strong enough to blast a nasty cloud of pepper in the air as well. If you prefer to stay away from electronics, you can pilot them with ball valve attached to trip wires as well. Sounds like a fun project.  Grin I'd love to see a video of one in action....

A police whistle at the pilot side is not bad at all! You inspire me a lot!

Yeah, a combustion gun may be even louder than a pneumatic one! Great  Smiley I think to scare ...people, it's better to work as a trap, not in intervals. When it shoots in intervals, bad guys may see that no one controls the gun.
