sling shot update chrony weirdness
« on: August 13, 2009, 10:13:09 PM »
I put new bands on one of my slings last night made en  bit bigger than the last ones so naturaly i wanted to shoot it over the chrony as soon as i got off work this afternoon with 3/8 nuts about 6 1/2 grams first shot 237 about what i expectednext few shots went up a little as the bands kinda settled in and i could get to full draw then 495 fps sometimes the machine reads funnt so i dont count it unless i can repeat it so next shot 505 ok 2 bad rwads in a row thats weird then the next 10 -20 shots were all over the place from 212 to 607 id like to claim 607 but i cant the chrony has never given more than 1 bad read in a row and it rarley does that it was a bit overcast today the low bat indicater wasnt inticating low bat there was a bunch of gnats out this evening
not sure what caused it to do this i uess this ss shoots 3/8 nuts somewhere between 200 and 600 fps still gonna bet around 230 but it would be nice to know

That sure seems strange. I've gotten bad chrony reads here and there, but not several in a row. Perhaps it was picking up the gnats. Man, I hate gnats! They make summer shooting around here unbearable. Do you have many fire ants where you live? They used to get me all the time when I lived in TX a year ago.
