What are you working on currently?
« on: February 18, 2012, 10:56:46 PM »
Hey guys, I have been inactive for a week or 2, Sorry for that, Just have been SUPER busy (And in the next few week, Probs even more...  :'(.
So, What are you currently working on? What is your latest AG (Airgun) project?

for me, I am trying to find the perfect bullet that is easy to make so i can mass produce them...
I also need to get a shock pump, LOL still havnt got one, Everyday for the last 2 freaking weeks i have said to myself, "Oh yeah i goto buy a shock pump today" But i never do, So TODAY IS THE FREAKING DAY I DO IT!
Hopefully with a bit for PSI behind whatever projectile i am going to shoot, It will stabilise a bit better. (Also shoot it further and more accurate)

I have experemented with paper darts, And there really good, Although i find they are just to innacurate for the range i want to shoot at. Although great for closer ranges.
Any ideas? I need to be able to hunt small game with it at about 140-150 PSI.

I've still been working with my balanced spool valve. Getting good results with it, progress has just been slower than I care for with a busy work schedule.

You might want to look into making finned darts, I've had very good success with them. The tricky part is building a cheap reliable sabot to seal them in the barrel. The sabot then has to separate after firing so the dart can fly with minimal drag.

Yeah, I believe you have made a finned disgarding sabot havn't you?
You should make a tutorial and put it in the tut section...

I'm working on making sabots from wax, if successful, I'll definitely post a tutorial on it.

Great,  Hope all goes well for you.
I have also been fooling-around with wax, I have been making wax ammo just for general shooting.
They work well at a close range and break rarely! Also, it takes me about 30 seconds to make 1 bullet.

I have also JUST finished painting my air sniper (I still have paint on my hands)
Its a camo paint job and it looks quite good, Put it this way, I was not expecting it to turn out like it did (I mean that in a positive way).
I also have a camo (Ghillie)  gun wrap that gives the gun a realistic grassy look.

Another new thing is i have just bought a shock pump! It should arrive soon and now i should be able to get the PSI i desire.
