CO2 Regulator
« on: December 28, 2008, 09:18:30 PM »
Has anyone here tried the Kobalt CO2 regulator you can buy at lowe's for their homemade airguns? http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=166441-61735-J-6901-100&lpage=none
Looks like a good way to stay charged up out in the field, but the price tag is a little higher than I'm wanting to shell out right now. A cheaper route might be to use a paintball remote line combined with a pop off valve  and pressure gauge on the gun to prevent accidents. Slightly open the valve until the gun gets close to 120 PSI, then shut it off. I currently use a backpack I built, but you lose velocity with every shot. Anyone else use any system to keep their airguns charged up when hunting?

Why don't you just hook up the co2 tank to you're gun directly? That's what I did. I know I know That's a lot of pressure but I haven't had any problems yet! It's also way more powerful than you guys' stuff I can put a .50 cal RB Almost all the way through one of those full size phone books.

What do you build your airguns out of? I've used unregged CO2 with 1/2" black iron pipe with no problems, but I sure wouldn't use it with PVC!

Steel and iron with ball valves It takes a lot of guts to hook that co2 up the first time! Yah I wouldn't use it with PVC Ive blown that stuff up with my aircompresser I will never use PVC again!
