hammer valve
« on: August 05, 2010, 10:15:58 AM »
i think my next project will be a hammer valve sorta like boars, just much smaller. i think the gun will be about .30 cal, because then i wont need to let out so much air to fire it hard enough. should i use O-rings? or should i turn something out of rubber on my lathe? or should i use faucet washers?

if you can turn something why don't you use some sort of plastic or resin roundbar like teflon or delrin??? im not sure of what boar used but I would imagine you could do it on a wood lathe easy enough

i started with o rings and they worked fine at low pressure and still held at 5-600 psi but they poped off on firing i think that could have been solved but went with solid delrin for the seal as i had some layin around and its workin fine im also tryin that on my pump but havnt got the shape just rite yet
