Carbon arrows vs tar road
« on: August 03, 2010, 02:47:17 AM »
I wonder how bad it will be for carbon arrows if they strike tar road/ cement floor. Carbon arrows shot from a 30lbs draw re-curve bow. Will they break or be rendered useless for sure.

I havent shot a bow for going on 10 years, but the carbons back then were pretty amazing. I hit a lot of stuff and the arrows kept right on flying straight afterwards. You'll want to check them over good for cracking before using again. The carbon arrows of today appear to be constructed a bit differently, so I'm not sure what results you'll expect.

With all the shooting I do I can say that carbons are pretty tough but they have there limits... such as trees and rocks or anything hard like that... the ends where the tip is will smash into the shaft and split the carbon fibers away from each other making them useless... why are you shooting them at cement anyway???
