Any pics?

Would be nice to kick start a discussion about scopes vs 0 magnification holosights/iron sights for homemade airguns...

I've used both, normally I prefer irons or red dots on mine. If they didnt cost so much, one with a built in range finder would be nice.  ;D Carry a bullet drop chart with ya, you'll not miss your game if you do your part on the trigger.

I have prolly an 80-100 dollar Tasco 4x40 on my gun... it works well, although I would like more magnification in the future for those long shots at smaller game... I bought a new scope for my predator rifle a while back and found it to be rly nice it's a Barska 6-24x50 I paid about $110 or so for it and I'll prolly by one of those to put on my air rifle at some point

Well... I think a scope is useful out any beyond 100 meters but at that range most of our homemade airguns will struggle to hit its mark accurately. The only reasonable optic in that case would be a 0 magnification red dot/holographic sight.

You can always put a X3 magnifier module with a folding attachment behind your red dot  ;D
Its more for a tactical scenario then hunting... but I guess its equally useful in both because you never know at what distance you'll have a contact.

well my junk store scope here has pretty near zero magnification, AND IT COST THREE DOLLARS, CAN YOU BEAT THAT?
i would like a little more magnification than i have, just for a little more comfort at 50-60 yards. pics will happen. i also like irons, they cost NOTHING! (for someone like me with a whole building full of small pieces of hard ware, for some who doesn't they cost about fifty cents to build) for me, a scope with cross hairs is really almost unbeatable.

me to! it now has a cheek rest on it, which puts 1/16" of steel between my face and the schrader, but still......

my hardware store doesn't have threaded schraders, and it is on very low pressure, without my shock pump. today i took the scope of, cause i'm much more used to the irons, and the jury rigged scope mount kept moving. now i really miss that little bit of magnification.  ;D .
