Not much room in my back yard for testing, the pic of the above shot in the fence, was shot at about 30 feet. the dart itself weighs about 7.35 grams and  worked pretty well over and over again,

Sence Mickey's is all ways making improvements , We added a cone top to the bead that catches the blowby there by increasing speed and doubling the penitration by two fold,

Very nice, I like what Mickey has been up to.  8) I also like what you have developed for paintball guns, now if we can come up with some power mods...  ;D

Great dart mike, and am I excited to see some power mod ideas. Theoratically now by tuning the gun to almost max power and using a 3'' (8g) naildart how fast do you think it fires the projectile. 250fps maybe?? Even at this speed the fpe force is quite impresive.
Btw Mike what was the trajectory like at 30feet and how accurate was the 8gram naildart??  ;D

Hi all,   I shot theses at a ceader 1x6 fence, not at full power it did not seem to need it,
kinda a estamate when aiming a paintball gun one shot at a time but was able to get with in 4 inches of a 2 inch bulls eye, it fly's nice and straight.
I'll have some time next week to do some more testing, I've got a arrow i've made too out od some dowl rod and a few resin balls,  going to try a nitting needel next,   I'll post a little latter.

Remember I,m in the west coast of the U.S so theirs a time diffrence between some of us.  lol

stay safe   Michael

You got within a 4 inch group at 30feet without upping the power! thats quite accurate. What was the penetration how many inches deep ??

Ya that what I thought not bad shoots really streight, the dart went in and stuck out the other side about 3/8th o.f a inch
Now all I need to do is modify a paintballgun to hold a upper clip of darts, Maybe I'll build it from scratch. I have alot of parts. and alot of time on my hands,  I want or need a secount or third shot if I was going to hunt with darts, Better to hunt with my deadly marble balls and a 200 round hopper  lol.

What is the velocity on your gun, if 1 could get the gun to fire the 8gram nail @ 250Fps I think it will prove to be a decent hunting gun .Do you think it will be decently powerful enough to take down a medium size or juvenile racoon.

Wish I had a way of testing the Fps,  As far as the dart taking out a raccoon I guess it would depend on the shot and how close you were, you’d be better off hunting with MB68P rubber coated marble, A head shot for sure would knock it out or a body shot is going to most likely break or shatter bones if not paralyze it. they are more accurate and your not going to have to load them one at a time so you get more than one shot if needed. only 6 grams but powerfull. I'll post some pics in that forum a little latter.

Yeah you are right, you'll have to be reasonably close, say 25-30feet out max. ive downed feral cats pretty quick with PVC AG firing  120-150grain naildart @ 150-170fps out to 30feet @ 100psi = lungshots. So if this the case, then a tuned up paintballgun will be fine for hunting. Dont know till i try, best start saving $. haha.

I just saw your question in yahoo ASK, I couldn't of ask for better promo than that Thanks
Do you own a paintball gun?  and are you really hunting feral cats? What did they ever do to you?
I thought you wanted to hunt some real game, something you would eat that wouldn't go to waist. I hope at your age it's just not the kill that excites you, that will only lead to trouble down the line, just saying, It must be the dad in me I have a son a little bit older than you. anyways get back to me.

Long essay sorry . Thanks your info is real informative. To answer your question, no i do not own a paitballgun yet. I must look around and make sure I get a good quality 1, 1 that fits my need. Well about the ferl cats i only eliminate them when my parents ask me to do it, when their population gets out of hand in my neighborhood. So my neighbours got fed up and they said we should poison them. I dont like poison so I din agree with it and choose shooting to eliminate them. They are pest, they come in your garden and do thier biz everywhere, tear up the garbage bags and once one feral accidently came in my house and my dog started chasing it and it tore my moms curtains. Futher more I'll bet you wont stand them when they cry, make noises, and fight with each other in the wee hrs of the morning disrupting our sleep. When they cross the line this much, its clobberin time. Hope you undersand, anyway it was about a year ago now & they dont give much problems so I let them off the hook. Recently ive spotted some large flying squirrels, and am really interested in getting one for the pot, but i think its gonna be hard to get. Wow that was long winded sorry :P
