Cool link Jug will have to have a good thorough read of it tomorrow...and thank you for the compliment...I recommend if your gonna do it yourself use a very hard not very grainy wood like rock maple...the amount of heat that the lead puts out will deform most woods or get chars into your casting making it ugly and very easily broken

Hey guys here's some more test slug pics sorry about quality... I shot one of the ones I just cast and it seemed to be half way decent I want to elongate the tip more soon so it flies a little nicer but here is some before and after shot pics enjoy...more to come

I believe it is 1:28 which in my barrel is a total of only one revolution unfortunetly as it doesn't stabilize slugs well...I found a 30in. .30cal barrel online that I might pick up eventually for the test valve im building it's only $40 and the twist rate is 1:10...and I know that someone is gonna ask so ill just tell...im going to be using reloading bullets for ammo and a bolt action if I get the .30 barrel

Here is another slug design I did yesterday... it should stabilize a little nicer with that point and get more penetration... not that we need it... the other slugs just for comparison...

you can  buy them off fastenal for about 150 bucks or so i think. you can also buy a six dollar 600 psi ball valve of fastenal for $87.

I bought mine from McMaster-Carr...it cost around $50 and is fire tested steel
