New solution for leaking pistons

I've been using machine screws, nuts and washers to secure the rubber gasket to my pistons and almost all of them leak at the point where the rubber and machine screw meet.
The piston is made out of green PVC filled with epoxy. The new thing is the ring of epoxy around the bottom portion of the machine screw. It gives the rubber gasket a smooth face to seal against.
Just a simple solution if the glue you're using doesnt stick to the rubber, and most of them dont

cool! iv'e been thinking about making a piston valve .45 pistol, maybe peace a maker type thing. i'm gonna do it in cpvc, so it will be very low pressure, its really just a test to see if i can make a piston valve.
