First of, does a reversed naildart have advantage in accuracy? Never tried reverse. Also does a heavier dart have an advantage of stabalizing the flight pattern of a projectile. ( As in not veering off course.) Fired from a paintballgun, which has power to push a 53grain paintball 280-300 fps. Heavier(towards  60-70grain) of course will gain trajectory, but thats ok as long as it does not veer, Im petrified of veering darts. Well it will be best if a 40 grain dart can have no veering, then  i'll have its flat trajectory  and range. Point me towards the right direction plz, thanks so much.

Theoretically it has potential to be more accurate due to the CG being moved forward. Heavier darts have more momentum which enables them to retain their velocity better and be more resistant to crosswinds. I think some simple spring mods and your warmer climate (if using CO2) will enable your paintball gun to push a 40 grain dart pretty close to 400 fps. If you can make a discarding sabot (which i've almost perfected) you'll have less drag and longer range. My system requires the nail to be head first.

Sometimes they are rifled, more often than not, they will have straight rifling. Most are smoothbore, though. Light porting near the muzzle is something that would probably be beneficial for shooting darts.

I checked out quite a few articles and they do not recommend barrels longer than 16 inches they say it would affect accuracy. A 12 inch one may be better, and they say too much porting is bad. There should be no porting for the first 8'' of the barrel, only at the end. The most pronounced factor that will affect accuracy is the ammo, in paintball players dont recommend dimpled balls/balls that dont fit. So I guess that if a cone dart fits snugly in the barrel it will fly accurate. Wow thats alot of theory. :D
