Ok so as some of you know my dad is a taxidermist...that said we get some interesting stuff in the shop...now when I bought my hunting license this year, in the regulations book they had an article about wild boars becoming a problem here in NY...they stated that they can be hunted at anytime and in any number...so I was like oh that's cool... but what are the odds of seeing one... well apparently there pretty good!!! Because we got a phone call a couple months back, and the guy wanted to get one mounted or "stuffed" as you guys might know it... turns out he has been seeing them a lot and they seem to be all over the place... a couple guys I know are going to hunt them in a couple weeks on some state land not to far from me... I can't go on this trip but I will be able to go by myself at some point in the near future...sooo anyway I contacted the DEC today and asked about how the unprotected regs affect airguns for hunting them...I will keep you guys posted on the info I am given...but as of right now it looks like PH has something to use "the beast" on :]... Oooh by the way I have changed my gun design...I will try and get some pics as soon as possible for you all...and I ran the #'s on ggdt and I came up with a 400fpe with my 180 RB configuration...so that's exciting...and I will be ordering parts very soon to finish my gun

That would be awesome to take a wild hog with a homemade airgun. I hope they will allow you to use yours. I know here in MO, you dont even have to have a license to take wild hogs. They really want to be rid of them.

that would be cool Ive got a couple of places That i can shoot pigs if i ever get my airgun going good if it doesnt work out up there you might consider a trip down here

Update for you all...I got the E-mail that I have been waiting for tonight and guess what...They said that it is a perfectly legal method of hunting boar!!! Im gettin really excited to finish my gun at this point!!!

hey guys some new info regarding airgun hunting here in NY...Just found out that they passed a new legislation allowing the use of airguns to hunt ALL small game!!! hopefully next year they get into big game =]
