Chonograph Shield
« on: February 28, 2010, 12:25:57 PM »

1/4" of 304 Stainless steel at a 45* angle.

Pretty bullet proof for anything that I can throw at it.

When I was researching chronographs, I read several posts about destruction of the electronics by accidental hits.

I vowed to build a shield to protect my investment.

I am not sure, but having the shield allows me to aim lower and the shield my also block some muzzle blast.

Easy enough to build, why not?

If you hit that plate with a bullet that has enough force, could the plate fly out of the wooden fixture and into the chonograph?
I hope there are some hidden bolts holding that thing  ;D

The steadiness of hand, the acuity of vision and finally
the art of knowing how to make the rifle an extension of the
body all equate to the ultimate synthesis of man and machine."

Good observation, correct.

I posed the plate for the photo.

The steel plates will be bolted in front of the of the plywood.
